Tania Hernandez , a “bawn Jamaican” and citizen of Canada, is a teacher, author, poet, recording artist and Jamaican folklorist. Her latest book is titled: One Pot
She has delighted crowds in Canada and the USA with songs, poems, stories and skits that reflect the wit, humour and expressions of her Island home.
She channels the spirit of her cultural hero, lovingly known as Miss Lou - Hon. Dr. Louise Bennett Coverley, and contributes to the preservation, promulgation and performance of artistic expressions of her birth country. Her recently released book, One Pot, serves up a delicious stew of humorous true stories from Jamaica and Canada, along with her poems and Jamaican fusion recipe. There is something for everyone!
The use of the Jamaican dialect, patois, in some of the stories and poems, brings out the authentic ways of the Jamaican people, which will 'mek yuh buss yuh belly wid laugh!"
The stories included a riveting account of a narrow escape with a crocodile, and other stories recount the culture shock that Tania experienced when she came to Canada. Her poems include a tribute to the fallen heroes of the Covid-19 pandemic, and to her hero, Miss Lou.
The Jamaican fusion recipes are packed with delicious flavours. One Pot will nurture your heart, mind, body and soul!
Just read the favourable reviews from Miss Lou's son, Fabian Coverley, Consultant, LBC Estate, and Grace Cameron, editor-in-chief of Jamaican Eats Magazine.

Dear Community Partner,
The Jamaica Foundation (Hamilton) is an Ontario registered Non- profit, non-
denominational organization which has been in existence for over twenty years. For many years
we have given support to the Jamaica Children’s Home in Jamaica which care for abandon
children through our fund raising efforts.
Because of the COVID 19 pandemic, we had to cancel our two fundraising events (Jamaica
Day, and the Annual Banquet) which were scheduled for April and November respectively of
this year.
The children’s home had a large fire last year , and they are also in the process of rebuilding,
COVOD19 has also caused the children not to be in school, so they are also in need of
computers and tablets to facilitate learning in the home.
In order to continue to assist the children, we are asking you for a monetary donation that will
go a long way. We also value your commitment to community involvement and look forward to
your donation.
Sincerely,
Winsome Plummer
